Here's a site on visual sexing of Senegals.

http://www.wingscc.com/aps/apsmail/senegal_sexing.aspx

It's not 100% proof since people still seem to be on the fence about if the species is actually sexually dimorphic at all. I don't think that the chest markings are actually an indicator, but that's just from google, I don't have a Senegal. Hope it helps!

Thanks Calthesa.

I've read about the colouring in the tail feathers but never seen any photos so that's really helpful.

I can report he's got zero green in the down there area so another clue that he's for sure a he.

I posted that he looks to me to be a male, if you remember. I have a female Senegal and so far as I can tell The things Pajarita told you are valid as well as the one that you just mentioned. I am aware af all of these and they seem real to me.

I do remember, thanks Wolf! I'm glad to get all the confirmation I can...it would have been hard after so many years to try and remember to use she!

They don't care what you call them :-) I have a few that were thought to be 'boys' but turned out to be girls and although I 'tweaked' the male names into females' (like Nathan is now Naida), I still tell them 'Good boy!' when they do something right because that's what they understand as praise. Everybody in my birdroom is either a 'Good bird!' or a 'Good boy!'.

That would be why all my pets have had non-name names....

Jollup, Kaycee (lovebird), Pepin (bunny), Yeti, Sparks and Corkie (all cats).
