Hi Everyone,
It has been awhile. So long in fact I don't remember what my user name was. I have been searching the forum looking for information but there is so much to read that I wanted to just join once again and hopefully not miss out by staying away so long.

Let me re-start by telling you we have a Severe Macaw who's name is Lady. :)
I've owned birds in the past and worked in a pet store for about a year or two back when I was younger. I have always had a love for animals but being a city girl there is only certain types of "pets" that would be better than others. Space, as well as other things are an important factor when owning animals as I'm assure you will agree.

I've rejoined because I feel it would be beneficial for both Lady and I. I need to get back to the basics and work more often with her. Lady spends her time out of the cage with me more so than my husband, but she will step up onto his hand if he tells her too. We have had her for long enough that if I would of kept working at the basics I could have a closer relationship with her now. Lady doesn't step up for me but she does allow me to pet her head and will take food nicely from my hand. She also enjoys tasting everything she sees me eat or drink. ;) I hope by rejoining and reading how so many have successfully became the best caretaker of their babies that Lady and I will have a better relationship. :)

If you got Lady from a pet store while searching for a dog, your username may have been Eileen.

Welcome back!

Out of curiosity, was there a particular reason you left?

Thank you. Well there was many reasons I strayed from the forum, time mostly. I had a lot going on from medical issues and returning back to work and some changes at work as well. Things have settled and Lady is still a large part of my daily life but I need to get working on a routine with her to make our relationship closer.
My routine for work has mostly settled into a almost regular schedule so now I can focus on making a schedule that will work better at home.

Thank you Wolf, I truly am glad to be able to be back. There are questions I am looking to find answers too and expect to spend much time researching to see if they have already been addressed so I can begin to learn how and why and what to do as well as expect in all things with Severe Macaws, but Lady in particular of course. :)
