Hello from Pennsylvania!

Postby Cuervo's mama » Sun Jul 13, 2014 11:23 am

My name is Amber and I am the proud owner of a new baby Sun Conure. :) His name is Cuervo and he is just the sweetest thing. I've worked with birds plenty in my work at Petco but this is my first time as an owner. And my first time with a fully flighted bird! D: Very nervous but it's going well so far. Can't wait to get to know some people and learn even more about birds. :sun:

Welcome to the forum. 'Crow' is quite an unusual name for such a colorful bird, any particular reason for it?

Not Crow. Cuervo. As in Tequila because he looks like a tequila sunrise.

Ahhhh, yes, they do (tequila sunrise, light on the grenadine is MY drink so I should know -LOL). I asked because 'cuervo' means crow in Spanish... How old is he? He must be still a baby going by his plumage on the picture - or the picture is old :D

I'm waiting for the official hatch day papers as my breeder is on vacation. I had to pick him up from her business partner and she forgot to give her the papers for me. But he's about twenty weeks I believe since he weened two weeks late.

Yes, I could tell he was still a baby because he hasn't gone through his juvenile molt yet.
