My GCC is here!!!

Postby ShelbyLRay » Sat Aug 09, 2014 4:17 pm

:gcc: I went and got my new green cheek today, and boy is he pretty! The guy said he mostly liked girls, and he was right. The other two girls he had were reluctant to even move, but the boy was jumping around and happy to jump on my hand. They were very tame and very calm, and they were also extremely clean. Mine is a yellow sided, the biggest girl was a pineapple, and the smaller girl was a cinnamon. I really liked all of them, but the boy just seemed to take a liking to me really quick :D
So after the long drive and the baby eating out of my hand the whole way home, we finally arrived and i got him in his cage to settle down for a day or two. He has been in there for a few hours, eating like crazy and he's already drank a ton of water, so i suppose he's taking to the moving pretty well. I thought he would be more nervous. He is kind of not wanting to step up, but if i hold a treat, he gravitates towards it and steps up. I hope these pics will load but if they don't I'm gonna need someone to explain how to make them the right size!

Pretty boy. Now don't crowd him and give him a chance to relax a bit, He is going to want to see everything that is going on, but still needs some time to himself, at least as far as handling him. Also don't forget to give him some soft food a couple of times a day as he is still a baby.

@Wolf he has a separate cup of veggies in his cage along with a corn muffin recipe Pajarita put on here somewhere. I'm not gonna play with him for the rest of the night cuz I know they need their space, he's just so hard to not wanna hold. :D I have to get a bunch of new toys when I get paid because I only have dowels and a few comfy perches in there, with a bunch of homemade toys I made from the diy section on here. Whenever I leave the room, he screams for a few seconds then calms down. I have him by the window which is sunny and warm now, but I have to find another spot for him in the fall/winter. As for him playing so far, he's liking to hang upside down from the little ring toy I have in there and it's really funny. I think I'm in love.

Aww how cute he is! How exciting to have a new baby. Yes, it is so very hard not to handle them and douse them with lots of love an affection. Be strong, you will make a better boy out of him if you take it all in stride!
Congratulations on your new baby boy!
