Before, she had gone a long time without molting at all. So everything is probably a bit off.

Well, I don't know what you actually mean by 'a long time'... they are supposed to molt only once a year - she had molted last year, right?

When I got her in August of '14, she was not molting and had no pin feathers. She was about 7 months old. In the spring she still hadn't molted and her feathers looked really beat up. That's when I brought her to the vet and they found that infection.
She started molting about the time her infection cleared up.

OK, let me see if I got this right. In August 2014 you got her when she was 7 months old (and she must have just gone through her juvenile molt). Then, in spring of this year (maybe May?), you took her to the vet and they found she had an infection. Then, after the infection cleared up (end of July?) she started molting again. So, what you are saying is that she started in July and is still molting now, in October? And that this is the first molt she has gone through in your house, right?

She isn't losing any more feathers, she has a lot of feathers coming in. Other than that I'd say that that timeline is pretty close.

So she is having a bit of a hard molt (which we already established is due to the fact that you had been free-feeding pellets in the past) but she is, actually, pretty much on schedule so no worries, Navre. Everything is OK and she will have an easier molt next year now that her diet has been adjusted.
