Hello-New Bird and New Problems

Postby PunkToaster » Thu Aug 21, 2014 7:16 pm

Hi. My family has owned a Quaker for nearly 16 years. We recently adopted a Senegal that flew into a friend's backyard one evening. I'll ask more about him in the appropriate area. Thanks for this forum. I look forward to getting to know everyone better. :senegal: :monk:

Welcome to the forum. How long ago did the bird show up and did your friend or you attempt to find the owner? these things are very difficult for the original owner and for the bird as both of them will grieve the loss of the other.

Welcome to the forum. I hope your friend did not just take the bird in without making a big effort to find its owners. When we lose one, it's like losing a child.

Welcome to the forum PunkToaster! Kudos to you for sheltering a lost parrot. Since you already had one parrot, I assume you are continuing to look for the Senegal's former home. To help you with this process, there is a thread http://www.theparrotforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=43 on what to do if your parrot is lost outside. The places listed to post in the event of that catastrophe are the places you would post for having found a lost bird.

How lucky that Senegal is to have found someone who will give him a home if the two of you can't find his old one!
