Thanks for the wonderful info Wolf and Pajarita! And well.. In my (not so vast) experience, if you raise your bird from baby into adult while spending AS MUCH TIME AS POSSIBLE with it, giving him treats and petting it, then your relationship is likely to remain great even in adulthood.

(Note: please excuse the grammar mistakes if there are)
Everyone likes birds. What creature is more accessible to our eyes and ears, as close to us and everyone in the world?

I really wish that I could give a better answer to your question, But the truth is that I don't know. I would say that it is possible, but I don't think that the bird goes by that. I think that if you get through puberty with your friend and the bird still likes you or comes back around shortly then you will probably have a long and rewarding relationship with each other. This is the best that I have for an answer.
