Again Pajarita, very insightful post! I appreciate you sharing your knowledge very much as we've got a lot to learn. It's also nice to hear that people such as yourself are out there to help those in need =) And I mean the birds, not me! Although that is also nice lol Glad to hear the Cockatoo is doing much better now =)

I'm also wondering.. What do you guys usually do in regards to droppings? Are your birds trained?

No, I am actually against potty training birds. It's one thing to train a dog to hold it for some hours (and I am even against people who work full time having any of the toy breeds precisely because of the housebreaking issue) as a dog would normally defecate 1 or 2 times a day, depending on their size, but birds have a much higher (faster) metabolism and would poop many times a day, sometimes every 20 minutes, and, when they 'go' they do both number one and number two together so training them to 'hold it' is simply unhealthy and I would not risk their health just so I don't have to wipe poop from the floor or a piece of furniture every now and then (I also have 'parrot clothes' -old Tshirts- I wear all day long). I rescue dogs and cats as well as birds so, in my house, hair and poop are part of the 'decoration'
