It is my understanding that the neck ring comes after puberty and is not present in the juvenile male.

Mithoo looked exactly like the one in the photos. She is now 5+. Still the same. No ring. They're born with it. The males are. Methinks.

I just finished looking it up and if it does not display the black neck ring by the age of 36 months ( 3 yrs.) it is a female. The juvenile male looks like the female of the species.
