Only four weeks, Wolf? How did that happen? You know it's illegal to sell or give away a puppy before he is 6 weeks old? Unless something happened to the mother, of course...

Well it happened like this:
A man that I am acquainted with knows that I like boxers and his mother had bred her female to a male and had puppies. He said that they were fully weaned and ready for sale. I told him that was nice but I don't buy dogs and that as much as I like boxers, I could not afford to buy one even if I wanted to. So he decided to gift me with a puppy. I said ok and a few days later, I got the puppy. She is beautiful but I was very displeased with their idea of weaning and the age of the puppy and although he claimed that it was older than four weeks, it took almost a week before I could get even an estimate of its date of birth. When I put that date on the calendar and counted I was only about three days off in my estimate of the birthdate of the puppy.
I kept the puppy because if they were doing this with the one they were doing it with the entire litter and I could not send her back. I can't worm her as she is too little, she needs to be at least 10 pounds and only weighs about 5 to 6 pounds. I talked to animal control here in Ashe county and they won't do anything about this.
That is how this happened. At least this one will be taken care of like it should be. I have expressed my displeasure over this to him several times trying to get him to put a stop to this and not try to sell or give any more away for another 4 to 5 weeks. It ain't working, and I don't know what else to do.

one simple solution wolf if he carnt care for the puppies properly why not have his female done so she carnt have any more.In england he would have been in court for it and proberly been banned from keeping dogs for a set time.but i am sure your pup is in good hands and will have a nice future, only hope the rest of the puppies find good homes.making progress with charlie let me stroke his chest today so getting there.

Well it isn't the guy's dog it is his mother's and although I have left no doubt about how I feel about this, I can't force them and Animal control refuses to act on this. I guess I could shoot the dog, but that wouldn't stop them from getting another. I don't have any other ideas, and don't know what else to do.

it makes my blood boil people like that, people like that dont deserve to keep animals if i had my way i would charge people who are cruel to animals. On the same level as if some one was cruel to a human. And if you did shoot the dog you would be in trouble for it,and you would sink to thier level.hows your pup doing anyway?
