Yes, thank you so much for helping this little bird. Most people would have just walked away or, if they had taken him, they wouldn't have taken him to a vet but if he is fluffed up during the day, there is something wrong with him. Didn't the vet give you anything for inflammation and pain -like metacam? Because pain is the most likely explanation for his doing this unless the temperature in your house is very low. Keep him in a quiet place (not in the middle of a human traffic), put his cage up high (at your eye level when you are standing up -and NOT in the kitchen, please), keep him warm -people use lamps but I hate them (can hurt their eyes and you cannot use them at night), I use a heating pad at the bottom of their cage (you can cover it with newspaper to avoid poop on it), a thermometer inside the cage (it needs to be at 85-90 degrees) and I use a towel to cover the top and three sides of the cage, leaving only the front open for light.
As to food, they like leafy greens (all kinds but also raw broccoli) and some veggies like fresh corn, diced carrots, baby peas, they are not big on fruits except for pomegranate seeds so don't worry if he doesn't eat any. Cooked whole grains are also good for them.
