Hello from New Hampshire!

Postby CheriZ » Thu May 07, 2015 9:08 am

Hi all! My name is Cheri and my current baby, a 7 week old blue Quaker parrot, is named Squeegee! (He / she got that name because in the first 5 minutes home he flew straight into the window where I had to peel him off!)
I have owned 2 rescued, larger adult parrots in the past but this is my first baby. VERY different dynamic! Will be looking for advice from all of you experienced Mom's and Dad's!

Welcome Cheri and Squeegee! Glad to have you here. I love quakers! Please remember to feed the baby two different types of soft food served fresh twice a day. What happened to the other two parrots you had?

Hi! Nice to meet you!
The first parrot, Tucker, was a blue & gold macaw who was almost 50 years old when we got him. We had him 6 years before we woke up one morning and he had passed. He had seemed fine the night before, and we did not have a necropsy done, so not sure what caused it. My second parrot was an African gray - Reggie. Reggie was 3 when we got him and he immediately bonded to my 20 yr old son, so when my son got his own place a year later, he took him. He is now living with my 32 yr old son and his wife and son! :)
