I'm Pep I'm from Dundee Scotland,
I have a CAG he will be 14 Weeks come Tues,
I got him at just over 11 weeks,his name is Timmeh..Tim for short
But he was eating by himself etc np.
Anyway wanted to pop in and say hi

Welcome! You named a Congo for another subspecies? That's a new one! :lol: Please make sure you start him off on an excellent diet and that he gets two different kinds of soft food served fresh twice a day. They might not look like babies but they still are and need the extra good nutrition and comfort of soft food.

The name of the species is Timneh (with m and then n) but this is only the way we spell it. It's thought that the original name was Temne from the African tribe that lives in Sierra Leone in West Africa and where these birds come from. The first grays trapped and shipped out of Africa as pets were the Congo ones (like the one you have) and the Timnehs were, most likely, called Temne gray parrots to differentiate them from the nominate, and already known species, and because they must have been trapped by this tribe.
