Hi everyone,
I'd like to introduce myself and our 2 feathered friends. We've got Jessie, a 4-year old Senegal and Lucy a 5-year old Red-Bellied.
Jessie is a typical Senegal - he's got his goofy side when he's hangs upside down and swings and his cuddly side when he's hanging out with mommy and watching TV. He's got a pretty good vocabulary and says things like "hi buddy", "see you later" (but only when we leave the house), "peekaboo" (we play peekaboo every night before going to bed), "come here", "scrathes", "me" (whenever I'm making food in the kitchen ... he's letting me know he wants some)
And Lucy, our little female Red-Bellied is very smart and is not a very hands on kind of bird. She prefers to just climb around on top of her cage or the top of the couch and do her own thing. She also has an amazing vocabulary. She says things like hi baby, how u doin, what u doin, pretty birdy, want scratches, see you later (we get a chorus of see you laters when we leave the house), peekaboo, hi jessie, is it a good girl.
I'm looking forward to reading everyone else's bird stories.
Laura
