Hi i live in Queensland Australia. My name is Chaz.I have three parrots a blue and gold macaw, a blue fronted amazon and a green cheek conure. They all live in side with us in there own room. They have a big play gym area, to play. The macaw is 7mths, the amazon is 9mths and the conure is 8mths. They all have there fruit and vegs in the morning and in the afternoon the get there pellets to eat. The macaw feel of his perch late at night to the bottom of the cage, he only done it once, is that normal. thank you. Chaz

No, it's never normal for a bird to fall off a perch unless the bird is clipped. But, even then, their toes lock when they are asleep so they never fall off. Have any of these birds seen an avian vet? Because, I don't want to scare you but the macaw is weaning and this is the age when they start showing symptoms of disease...

You have three very young birds there (meaning, they have not become sexually mature adults) and two of species that are quite needy so I hope that you have many free hours during the day for the next 30 years or so because you are going to need them.

Thank you for your reply. We are retired so we have many hours of the day we are free, they get a lot of of play time with us, and have a huge play gym. The amazon loves the play gym and the macaw loves to spend most of the time with us. He is like a big baby. Thank you very much. Chaz and family.
