Hi everyone, though it'd make a little introduction.

You may call me ShadowCrush, and I'm from Denmark.
I'm a currently non-bird-owner, but some months ago, I started showing signs of an infection. My interest in parrots have been growing, and I've been reading bits about them here and there, and asking for more. I've tried going out and getting more fresh air, but I tend to end up and parrot-farms and zoos. It's even gotten to the point where my sleep is disturbed by nightmares of colorful, winged creatures.
I've been to my doctor, he says to get a dog, but I have little confidence in his diagnosis.

So here I am. I hope to someday become a bird owner again. I had a few budgies as a boy, but small-mid-sized parrots seems to be my primary interest now. Poicephalus and Conures and such.

I'll probably become a small nuisance and ask all kinds of questions, but for now, I'm just here to say hi. So hi!

Well in many respects a dog would be much easier to deal with as we understand them much better than birds. This is due to the fact that we are both mammals, predators and both live in a dominance base society. Birds, referring to parrots, do not live in a dominance base society, are not predators and are not mammals. I think that one of the biggest problems that you will have to deal with in Denmark is lighting due to the fact that birds are photoperiodic in nature. Ask all the questions that you need as I am sure that someone here will have an answer for you. If not I am confident that I can make up something that sound plausible for you.

Welcome to the forum! Yes, falling in love with parrots is very easy. What's VERY hard is keeping them healthy and happy... but we are here to help as much as we can.

Welcome to the forum! We are all agreed that dogs are easier pets than parrots, but we have all been infected as well.
