Sage is doing REALLY well! He's become super attached to me overnight. Whenever I come near the cage, he does this cute little flip in the corner of the cage. And if I put my hand in the cage, he will hop on with no hesitation. He's such a sweetie!

Not overnight, as far as I can tell it has taken him about 10 days to make up his mind about trusting you. I know that it may seem to be over night as one day he doesn't trust you and then the next he is your best friend. The truth is that he hadn't made up his mind, but then when he did he started acting on that right away. You really can't say that the first nine days didn't have an effect because they were part of what it took for him to decide to trust you and as such they were as important as this last day.

Kudos that you were able to win his trust in 10 days. That is really a very short time.

Ahah yes Wolf, overnight is an exaggeration. But thanks to all your help, it did feel like it was overnight. It's really easy to get him out of the cage now.

Thanks Pajarita, it was all because of your help. :)

Great news! It pays to be patient and allow them to make the first step. It sets a foundation of respect that morphs into trust and, later on, into love. And it's so very rewarding when one sees that little bird take that first step, isn't it?
