I just registered. I haven't gotten a bird yet. I do have chickens though, 5 sweet girls laying yummy eggs. Anyway. I'm reading up on cockatiels. Need to get the cage and supplies. I have a personal friend who raises them. When ready I'll get 2 hand fed cockatiels from her. I want 2 because I work during the day. I'm not bringing birds home until I have all they need.
Is there a page on this forum where photos are shared?

Welcome. You are right to get two. They do much better with a buddy. Try to get a cage with more horizontal space so they can play together. A verticle cage means one is going to poop on the other. Always get the biggest you can afford.

That is my 2 cents. Others will give you more info about food and lighting.

I am typing with a cast and it isn't easy.

Personally if I were to get birds from a breeder( which I don't do) I would want to get co-parented birds that are abundance weaned as I feel that the birds would be stronger and more stable mentally and emotionally than any other bids that they would have. I would also insist that the breeder not clip their wings.

I agree 100%. But I would also get birds from a breeder that breeds ONLY in season! Off season breeding implies lack of knowledge or care on the breeder's part as well as weak parents...
