Hello from another Hudson Valley birder

Postby shekomeko » Thu Nov 26, 2015 1:31 pm

Hello all and Happy Thanksgiving!
I am a first-time owner of a GCC. Have owned (and loved) all sorts of fowl over the years and have contemplated a parrot for a loooong time. Finally took the plunge…His name is Bling. My first bird to live indoors :)

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome! I will upload a photo when i figure it out! My perch tree came yesterday and Bling is loving it. He is eating everything I offer him -- if only kids ate so many fresh fruits and vegetables!!! Only issue is he's not playing with his toys - i think he is young and doesn't know how. I'm working on interacting with him with the toys, but he's more into me than the toy. suggestions welcome!

That is perfectly normal. Baby birds only want to be with their parents, nothing else interests them much at this point in time.
