Im not giving him anything else unless flicking come back but so far its been 2 days without flicking he is eating & drinking water and with a steady weight his owner is coming back on 3 days.

The vet was who said that his liver is working normally because chem panel came back normal. Avian Vets here arent updated about tests in birds and all that in fact there isnt even labs for DNA tests birds here. There is high tech for Dogs & cats but not for birds! Not even vets for rodents or rabbits..

Anyway he is even clowning around, and says to me Mama will take another picture now! He is not trying eating his poop anymore!! so thats good it means he is much better!

It is your decision whether to give him anything I recommend but I just one to make a couple of clarifications so you understand exactly what the situation is. The vet couldn't possibly know if the liver is working right so she shouldn't have said so. The fact that the AST and ALT (enzymes measured in the avian biochemistry panel blood test which, apparently came back normal for the bird) are not liver specific or measure liver function and this has always been known. I had a bird that died of liver failure due to aflatoxin poisoning and he showed normal levels of these enzymes until one month before he died (and that's how I learned about this). Now, flicking happens when things are real bad (the muscles are already at high levels of toxins) so the fact that flicking has stopped does not mean that his liver is OK. The supplements I recommended have no contraindications, side effects or can cause overdosing, they are completely safe (check them out, you'll see). But I do understand that you might be reluctant as the bird is not even yours and another one belonging to the same lady already died. The only thing I would ask you to do is to mention this to the owner of the bird so she can make an informed decision.

So i talked today with his owner told her the flicking its 100% gone. Also i took Sammy to another vet he is not avian especialist but has seen birds. He said his flicking was due to high iron levels because oatmeal when given in excess in birds tends to cause this the only way to lower this iron levels to NOT provide him oatmeal at all only fresh veggies, fruits & a small quantity of seeds. I took him 2 days ago because he flicked for a few seconds his wings about 3 days ago so mmm made me think but now im relieved cause this did the test Pajarita mentioned and says it all looks normal with his liver :D Only the iron its above the max 1.5 point. But vet suspects he is getting better he says that if the flicking was worse and now much less thanks to the diet he is improving to the point its been 3 days since he flicked his wings. Vet said also he hadnt seen such well taken care bird and that im a good momma bird i explained to him he is not mine. He is happy that i brought Sammy to him. He ended up not charging me anything! :0

Also Sammy's owner told me that while on vacation you know she took Hannah, Pepito & The Kiddo with her well Pepito died. He had poor feather condition since August after she thought it would be great to let Juliet share cage with them. I told her no dont do it but she did it anyway so this is something that whatever it is its only transmited through direct contact like PBFD or PDD! Doesnt have the exact same symptoms. But is very similar when i saw Tony the first time for me it had PBFD written down so i never touched him at all unless it was with a towell. But no direct contact. Sammys owner told me she realizes now how important it is to quarentine i always told her but she wouldnt listen. I told her today please no new birds until at least 6 months has passed so we know that Hannah and The Kiddo are ok. Cause if its PBFD or PDD there is no cure. And even the budgies are at risk of having it. They lived next to Tony while he was sick until he was separated from any bird. Also this is apparently something that so far has affected the lovebird cause Juliet, Pepito & Tony were all lovies. They never came in contact with Baylee. Juliet was always in a different room!

Tell her that Sammy is fairly healthy now, so it would be wise to quarantine him from her other birds to protect him from whatever they have.

I think you meant keep the other birds away from him.. the ones that should be kept away are the others not Sammy.
