L answer a lot of questions and some days it is harder to keep everyone's names straight in my head, I do go back and reread entire posts to refresh my mind, but sometime not soon enough. Will try to do better.

Its ok Wolf! No worries :D He is doing much better! I hope he keeps improving... Today he hasnt flicked his wings a lot.. i mean he used to be eating and flicking wings while eating today he ate WITHOUT flicking his wings!! After he ate he begun flicking again for 10-15 min then stopped again.

I know why Sammy flicks his wings! Hiccup! Thanks to Michael who posted a video of Kili i saw it and Sammy came to mind immediatly Sammy sometimes makes the sound others time he dont do it, just do the flicking!
So how do i cure it ? vet says antbiotics should be given i told her i already am giving him antibiotics, she said to try to keep him warm? Hiccups in birds can lasts months up to a year! he has been with this for almost a year! there are many factors! Stress is one factor...malnutrition is another or swalowing too much air while eating! Another cure is exposing him to sunlight or heatpad or warm water in a bottle! The air can make possible for a slow crop and then infection of the crop (which by the way causes diarreah) ! :D

I think maybe you are talking about something else because birds don't have hiccups. It's anatomically impossible for them because they don't have a diaphragm.

I am so very glad that poor Sammy is getting better! But I need to make a clarification: birds get yellow or green urates when the liver is functioning at only 25% of its capacity and already severely damaged. It doesn't do to wait until then to check their bile acids levels because, when it comes to the liver, the sooner you find out it's having problems, the better the chances to get them better.

As a matter of curiosity, why is it that the vets there (where is there?) don't test for heavy metals? It's a simple blood test and done for humans too.

I live in Venezuela..we only have 3 avian vets i know all 3 , i had a terrible experience with one of those 3...3 years ago when Baylee had a Dystocia episode and since that vet refused (said it wasnt necessary on birds) to do an xray on her...to resume he sent the wrong medicine and almost killed her :? So i found her actual vet...and she did xray and there was the egg! I told her what the other vet (he was a hawk breeder too) if he had done the xray Baylee wouldnt had been 10 hours away from dying! Anyway the 2 vets i consult with about Sammy are the only ones worth asking.. yes i did thought about it until i saw the video..i know they dont have a diaphragm.
But look this...

Kiki Senegal does the same as Kili is doing when she is a bit hormonal. The position of the wings is a common part of her mating dance although she holds her wings this way before her dance and for a while afterwards. The noises are not hiccups as there is no spasm which there would be with hiccups and I have always considered them part of her mating ritual as that is the only time that she makes them.
I just checked in all three of my avian medical books and there is no mention of hiccups or even anything closely resembling them.

It might be a hormonal 'call' (I've never seen Zoey do anything similar so I am not sure) but, to me, it looks more like asking for food than anything else on Michael's video. Truman also begs for food all the time on some videos.
