Aside from that, one cannot use a day or two as proof of anything when it comes to symptoms or behaviors. And, at least in ekkies, sometimes, they only flick when they are sleeping and you might have missed it. Have you tried giving him milk thistle for his liver?

At least give it some toys and teach it to play with them and turn on some music for them. And don't forget to visit with them often.

Yes, but Sammy started doing this when he had 5 more parrots with him so it's not the stress of loneliness that did it.
How did the vet determine that his liver is fine, Crazy4parrots? Didn't you say that they don't do bile acids tests there? Because, short of a biopsy, that's the only way you can tell how a bird's liver is doing -there is nothing else. Milk thistle Spanish name is cardo mariano and, although it's originally from Asia, it's cultivated in some South American countries -and one of them is Venezuela (the other two are Ecuador and Argentina).

Wolf wrote:From my medical books, they are avian medical books, liver function is reduced to about 25% before it shows up on a blood panel. So a blood test is not a good or reliable indicator of liver function.
Try telling them that the milk thistle is for both you and the bird.
