I absolutely love George's story. Makes me think of the old nursery rhyme...
"Georgie-porgie, puddin' and pie. Kiss the girls and make them cry."
A bird must get so smart in 60 years. So much a part of a family, a person's history. So involved. As someone once said to me "they may have a toddler's mind, but they've been a toddler for a lonnnnnnng time"!
The Rickeybird sometimes still looks out the window and calls the name of a cat who passed away 30 years ago. Rarely, he'll do the same about long gone relatives or pets. It used to send my grandmother into hysterics: she was sure he was seeing ghosts.
Old birds are such a treasure. I'm so grateful for mine, and I can feel how much you adore your Georgie. I would absolutely love to see a picture of him someday. I'm a fan. Please tell some more Georgie-porgie stories!!!
