I only trim my canaries nails once a year and, then, only if they need it or I'm going to breed them as it's safer for the babies. If you feed them right and have the right perches, they don't really need it more often than that because they are supposed to have nails that look a bit long to us.

Little Peep is a color canary. He is a non-frosted yellow bronze. Very pretty! I have a bronze myself and a yellow/bronze, too, their names are Rusty and Brulee, respectively, and they are brothers. Their father is a frosted red and his name is Rouget, their mother was a cinnamon Classic Timbrado named Canela so they are not only pretty, they also sing very nicely. My husband likes color canaries (he goes for the 'prettiness' factor  ) so I always keep a couple because, as long as he doesn't complain about my Timbrados, it's fine with me as I love them all, anyway.

Hi Kim, have I missed something? Has something happened to your birds? Your statement that you miss your boys is why I am asking as there is nothing to give me any clue. I sure hope that all is well.

Well, not necessarily. Little Peep could be a hen, they don't sing.
