Welcome to the forum. Would really like to hear more about Gorge and maybe even see som pictures of him. I hope that you know that beer is not good for a bird and that sharing your dinner may or may not be god for him as he does not need things like salt and butter or many of the sauces and things that we put on our foods. They do love to share food with us as it is a natural bonding activity for them, but we do need to be careful about what we feed them or we can make the really sick over a period of time. They only need a little bit of protein and that can easily be provides by either a good seed mix or pellets for their evening meal. Their are foods that a parrot should never be fed. Here is a link that should help you with this.
viewtopic.php?f=8&t=12521
This has a list beginning on the second page, that lists foods, woods, plants and household products that are toxic and safe for them.

I hope that you will read this and use it so that your bird can have a long and healthy life.

I was gonna say you shouldn't be giving your bird beer too but sometimes I'm not able to comment. Also I agree you shouldn't be feeding him your dinner little bits is ok as long as its healthy and not high in anything like Calcium,Protein. Some birds can go on lots of protein like Cockatiels can go on 70% protein I think.

Brandon, the only parrot that eats meals that are 70% protein are the keas which eat sheep. There is not such thing as a seed or nut or any other plant material that has protein that high.

Hi, Yosser and Gorge! Welcome to the forum! You only listed your bird as a 'conure' and not what kind but, if I go by the little drawing you added, it seems Gorge is a Green Cheeck Conure. Now, the thing is that GCCs (that's how we usually refer to them because they have a long name  ) eat mostly fruits in the wild so, please, make sure he (do you know for a fact Gorge is a he?) eats lots of fresh fruit every day. And, please, no beer or human food. Parrots need different food than we do and nobody needs alcohol (not even humans but much less birds).

I never said that I said they can handle that much not that they eat it.This is another reason why we dont get along.

Again he should not be eating from your mouth. And your vet shouldn't have told you that I would recommend getting a new vet.Is your current vet even an avian vet?
