Again he should not be eating from your mouth. And your vet shouldn't have told you that I would recommend getting a new vet.Is your current vet even an avian vet?

I really can't imagine an avian vet that would recommend that you give a bird beer or any other form of alcohol or to feeding the bird from your mouth due to the type and number of bacteria in the human mouth, so I can at this point only think that there must be a misunderstanding to some degree. I can imagine that he might have said that a tiny bit would probably not hurt the bird, but not recommended. This is due to the fact that birds have been known to drink from some pretty nasty water sources and that it is possible for them to ingest some alcohol in the wild from overripe fruit and such.
I think that perhaps this is the source of the misunderstanding, but we do know that it is not recommended and that is stated in the avian medical texts, which is one of my go to sources for information. Please do some more checking about this and I am sure that this is what you will find.

Please give us the name of the vet or the name of the clinic and town where it's located. With this information, we can check with the AAV (they have a list of all the certified avian vets) to see if he is really an avian vet because, to be honest with you, although he might have told you he is, I seriously doubt it. No avian vet would tell a bird owner that giving a parrot beer and human food fed from the owner's mouth is OK. Not a single one. No way, no how.
