Quaker Breeder

Postby k4baraza » Wed Feb 03, 2016 2:13 pm

Hello.
I'm really interested in purchasing a Quaker. I've been searching non-stop for a reputable breeder and can't find anything concrete on anyone. I see reviews here and there but feel like they might be manipulated, so I was wondering if everyone in this forum would be able to help.

I've come across a lot of breeders such as:

Birdmans Baby Parrots - IL
D And R Aviary - IL
In a pickle parrots - OH

I used the site birdbreeders.com, I've been searching non-stop on the web and calling breeder by breeder but it would be nice to hear from some of the members in the forum.
Thank you in advance for being able to help me out.

I can't help you because I do not have any of this species of parrot and due to where I live as I am surrounded by states where it is illegal to own Quaker parrots. Just wanted to give you heads up that if you live in certain states that it is illegal to have them and this may contribute to your problem.

I've never bought a single baby bird from a breeder or a petstore so I also have no info to offer. Have you considered adopting one? Because, I have to tell you that, for a first-time parrot owner, adopting is much safer and easier in the long run than buying a baby.

As someone who's adopted a quaker, I recommend it! I don't know how old she is, but there are no negatives to it, whereas if I had bought, I would have to deal with bird puberty (though, since the age of mine is still unknown, it's possible she could still be about to go through it).

Shiraartain, if your bird has a solid band on its leg then look for a 2 digit number turned 90 degrees from the other printing, that is normally the year the bird was hatched.
