I thought it was time I registered and introduced myself.
I share my home with two wonderful Poicelphalus, a 10yr old male Meyers name Mico and an 8yr old Senegal female named Layla. Layla was very much still a baby when I got her from a local breeder and Mico came to me at the age of 6 from well intended, but less than ideal circumstances.
When I got Layla, I was just finishing my first year of college, and living in an apt which is one of the reasons a Senegal was a good fit for my lifestyle. 8 years later, I couldn't ask for a better companion. She's got all the Senegal spunk and sass, shows good comprehension, and has an impressive vocabulary. I can pretty much do anything with her and she'll accept it as normal and ok.
I think Mico had at least two prior homes before I got him. He's absolutely fearless of people and other birds, more needy and less independent than Layla, but a very affectionate and go with the flow little guy.
I work from home so they both get to see me and spend time with me through out the day. I also consider myself lucky to be able to spend so much time with them of course
Anyways, I'm glad to be registered and look forward to spending more time here.
