I came home from work today to a happy little birdy who was very keen to come out! I offered him a grape and he didn't want it.. he just hopped straight onto my hand and ran up to my shoulder. Went on the laptop and he ran down to my hands and shoved his head in the palm for scratches :) I wasn't expecting him to be so chilled and happy so soon but he's so relaxed and loving already.

It's amazing how quick you can fall in love with the little guys!

My birds get fresh raw produce and Gloop for all day long, they also get an almond or two as treats during the day depending on their size. Then they get a measured amount of a seed mix and nut for dinner.

Parrots generally eat and drink in the morning and again in the evening before going to roost. The produce and gloop are much lower in fats than either pellets or seeds, but do provide a complete protein. I try to make sure that they have enough fresh produce and gloop for foraging during the day , but I also try to keep it so that there is not much wasted. They are always ready to eat their higher fat seeds for dinner and I remove the seed mix after they go to sleep for the night. This is as close to their natural feeding habits as I can get. Dinner time depends on when it gets dark, so when the light starts changing towards dusk I feed them dinner, again as close to their natural feeding habits as I can get.

Bandit is a fitting name for him, and I am so happy to hear how much he likes and wants to be with you, but don't forget to try and teach him to do some independent play, because just like my Kiki, Senegal, he would rather be on you than anything else in the world.
