While I know what a Senegal parrot is as I have a 9 year old Senegal parrot, I have never before heard of a Youyou Senegal Parrot. Could you pleas post a picture of this parrot along with some information telling us about this parrot.
As for your question... Senegal parrots may learn to speak human words and phrases and may even use them in their proper context. The thing with parrots , including Senegal parrots, and talking is that not all of them will bother with learning to talk and there is no way of knowing which ones will learn to speak or not. Most of those Senegals that do learn to speak don't do so until they are around 5 or 6 years old. The only thing that you can do to increase the possibility is to spend a large amount of time talking to your bird, but there are no guarantee's that this will get them to begin talking as this is something that the individual must decide for itself.

I hope that this helps.

It depends on the personality of the individual. He may pick up on your words and use them to express himself. He could also become one of those who understands what you say but will not use the words back to you.

I really knew nothing about any parrots but cockatiels when I got Rambo. He did not tell me about Amazons but gave me a crash course in Rambo. He was excited to move in with me and talked a lot but it really blew me away when he asked his first question. In my ignorance of parrots I thought they just mimicked. He taught me that he was a being in his own right and quite capable of expressing himself.

While calling my little dog Lola he joined in and was calling for her. I thought he was just copying me but after a while he said "Lola not c'mere". He has since then picked up the word won't.

Apparently, in Spain, they call Senegals you you parrots but I have no idea why because it's neither a sound they make or part of their scientific name. In my personal experience, male senegals are the talkers while the females will either not talk at all or just say a few words here and there.

I can't say much about the male vs female talking in Senegals as my only experience with them is with my female Senegal, Kiki. Kiki started about a year ago to speak human words and they are still not as clearly spoken as it appears to me that they will become, this places her at about 8 when she started saying words. She also does not have a large vocabulary as she mostly has three things that she say, but she does use them in proper context. She is also has just started showing signs of increasing the number of words that she does say.

Ki Ki may be a sponge. She might be absorbing but not giving back. There have been times that Rambo would come up with statements or questions that I have never heard before and I have had him quite some time.

Or she could be like Myrtle taking in and learning what I say without using the words to talk back with me. When she hears something funny she will use it for a while and then let it wander off. I just love it when she responds to Aunt Betty yelling at her with "Oh well !".

They are our kids. You can't judge one by what another is doing. The one may be running in his own way of genius.

Yes, I agree with Liz. Some parrots understand EVERYTHING we say to them as long as we always use the same words and in exactly the same context but they don't bother to learn to talk. Zoey Senegal is like that. She only makes little noises like TSK TSK TSK, kissy noises and purring as well as their normal vocalizations but she understands everything I say to her and is very obedient when it comes to following orders. She is also one of my most affectionate birds and has never, ever, ever bit or even nipped me (she is my little sweetheart and she knows it, too  )

Kiki is trying to learn to talk and she definitely understands a lot more than the words that she uses, Kookooloo, my Grey seems to understand nearly everything that I say, but although she can and does speak human words, I do not think that she likes to. She will only speak to me when it is just the two of us or just in front of the other birds, but no humans. Even then it depends on her mood. Most of the time it is more me trying to learn her beeps and clicks and such and she enjoys that a lot. She has spoken a large amount of things showing me that her actual vocabulary is much larger than what she uses most of the time.

Goes to show that you can never be sure of which ones will learn to speak or if they do learn it whether they enjoy it or if they will do it in front of others or even in front of you as I have read many reports of parrots that can and do talk in human words but only when they think that there are no humans present including their chosen human.
