Greetings, all. I made my usual forum faux pas of asking for help before properly introducing myself, and I thank Wolf for the kind and helpful replies to my questions.
I have kept a few budgies in my lifetime, one canary as a child, and a wonderful female sun conure named Shemesh who left us all too soon at the age of 20. After a year and a half of mourning, in December '15 my husband and I brought 5-month-old Keshet into our home, an adorable and beautiful yellow-sided green cheek conure. Keshet was re-homed by a breeder who had won him at a bird show. I had fully intended to try rescuing a bird this time around, but Keshet was clearly an ideal choice, and was clearly well-cared-for. I often joke that he needs a little tee shirt printed with the words "NOT SHEMESH", because his personality and preferences are much more different from hers than I anticipated, but it is surely not a bad thing. Just a new adventure!
I don't know how much participation you can expect from me here, to be honest, because I am a bit "too much or too little" about these things. But I get the feeling this is a good place to expand my bird knowledge.
Happy bird-parenting, everyone!
Sharon
PS: I have tried 3 times to attach a photo to this post. Can anyone direct me to the requirements/limits for photo attachment in this forum? I tried twice to reduce the file size but even a small pic is not attaching. Thanks!
