Wolf, that is so funny. I hide when i eat too, and I feel especially guilty when I know that I am eating something that is even unhealthy for me!!

With Gaugan I say, "this is Debbys" and she wont bother me....."If i say, do you want....etc..." then Gaugan knows she is going to get something.

That's great! I have tried and tried and tried with Sweetpea and it's not as if he doesn't know he is not supposed to have it - he DOES!!! He is a genius of a bird and knows EXACTLY what "No!" as well as "That's not yours!" (he likes to eat the fruit off the canaries cages) mean but he simply does not care! He wants what he wants and there is no dissuading him. And he is sneaky! He waits until I am distracted and BAM! he takes a big chunk of butter or cream cheese in his beak and flies away! I have no problem with Zoey, Isis or any other, only with Sweetpea.

PS Isis redbelly's one of favorite songs (The eye of the Tiger) is on the radio right now and she is bopping her head sideways to the rhythm

I have tried to keep them from eating some of everything that I have on my plate, but they don't care they will steal the stuff that I say no about, so rather than fight with them I eat the stuff they cant have where they can't get to it.

Ice cream, or nut and seed ice creams i make in my icecream maker are the worst. i have to eat them while hiding somewhere, or Sunny will land smack dab in the middle of my bowl, and then i have to clean him off. But he is starting to learn to stay off bowls, i have to make sure he has just eaten before i can eat in front of him though with any chance of success. Gaugan never follows him so she "knows" i never let her eat certain things and he wont be giving her a bad influence....lol

yep she really is a good girl, and can understand well, but she can certainly be a brat at times....lol,,,,she gets so stubborn about chewing on my china cabinet, and I have to go take her off and she trys to show me she should be allowed on there by hanging upside down, and taking little bites on whats on the cabinet and making adorable sounds.

Sunny tends to listen more most of the time about things that might lead to a short time out. If I see him after he snuck into Gaugans cage, i can say "Sunny get out of Gaugans cage" and he gets out of the cage immediately, Not Gaugan though, if she sneaks into Sunnys cage, and i say "Gaugan get out of Suunys cage, she will have a body reaction, that tells me she heard it but will try to grab the last bites of what she was having in there before i get there to take her out....lol

I guess that I am just a bit on the lazy side. I got one of those plastic mouse cat toys, the one with a laser light that produces a red dot. While playing with the cats with it one day I noticed that some of my birds were almost as attracted to it as the cats and would follow the strange red bud around to eat it. Kiki, Senegal had an entirely different reaction to it though, she moves away from it and if I persist a little bit with putting the dot near her she will fly away from wherever she is. It works great for when she flies to the top of a door or the trim over the door to chase her away from there.

It also works to chase her out of someone else's cage when she doesn't listen when I ask her to get out of their cage and it works fairly well to lead the others out as well when they go into another bird's cage.

Yes, sometimes we discover by sheer coincidence something that works like magic in getting them to obey. I used to have a male amazon called Teddy which wasn't really people-friendly. He would not step up (would bite you just for asking it) and was VERY stubborn about moving away from a spot but I discovered that all I had to do was grab one of those foam 'noodles' that kids use as life-savers and he would - FAST!
