Pajarita, as soon as i found him I took him to the local bird store and they gave him a check up and clipped his nails and wings for me. With all the research i have done on the internet i have noticed that all of the parrot's are able to fly and i'm going to let his feathers grow out.

I only want the best for him. we went out and bought a 31x20x40 cage. we bought toys and food for him. he doesn't seem to use the toys at all. he seems to not use the perch to much really either. i have left the cage door open for hours and he will not come out on his own but he will come out if i reach in for him. i change his water and food bowl each morning.

My dear, please don't take this the wrong way but a oet store owner or employee is not able to give a bird a check-up. They are merchants, not doctors. Only avian vets can give them a check-up and then, they need complete blood work to actually know if the bird is OK or not. I am happy to learn that you will allow him flight! It's the kindest thing you can do for him.

Keep on leaving the door open, eventually, he/she will come out. I don't know what kind of cage you have but I have found that the ones that have a door like a draw bridge (you know, the kind that has the lock on the top of the door and the hinges on the bottom so, when you open it, it's like a little platform) are the best ones to 'tempt' them to come out. If you don't have this kind, put a perch right outside the door so all he/she has to do is step out of the cage and onto the perch.

Frontal picture might help with identifying the bird, But I don't know for sure. I have been looking through pictures of several different species of parrots and specifically those of conures and it is possible that yours may be a hybrid, but again, I am unsure.
