A little info about Liseth. I took her from a bad home where she was fed on seed , chips , crisps and cakes, no veg or fruit and nuts. Her chest feathers were brown and I think she had been hit a lot.
I have had her for nearly 3 years now and changed her diet, give her all my time and she is now the most loving bird. But no matter what I do she still has brown chest feathers. Admittedly they are not as bad as they were. If anyone can help with suggestions I will be very grateful.

Myrtle came from a very bad place. She was drab and looked nothing like a BF. She was malnourished because of what they were feeding her. After almost 6 years she is a beautiful BF.
She has all her colors but her blue is still growing.

Thankyou Liz that has given me hope. Maybe I just haven't allowed enough time.

Welcome to the forum, Alienlady and Liseth! Actually, in three years, she would have molted those brown feathers completely (they molt half their plumage every year) so, if they are still brown, they will remain brown unless it's due to a medical condition that can be reversed. Have you had a bile acids test done on her? Because liver disease does turn their feathers brown and going by the diet she had in the past, there could be liver damage.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Sorry that I wasn't online earlier today, but I was in the hospital for some tests and a procedure so I was unable to get online earlier than this. After reading the duplicate post by you and seeing that there would be no harm by removing it ,I removed the second one. Just so that you know, it was really not that big of an issue but could be confusing to some people and that was the only reason that I removed it, not a big deal.

Sorry to hear about your birds feather issues but I am certain that you have already received the best advice on what should be done at this time and I don't feel that I could add anything of value to it at this time. I do hope that you will find the cause for this browning of the feathers and that hopefully it will be reversible.

Again welcome to the forum, please feel free to ask any questions that you may have as well as to share stories and pictures of your life with your bird, we just love them and will answer any questions to the best of our ability.

Hello Wolf thankyou very much for the welcome and thankyou also for removing my duplicate post.
I wish you a speedy recovery. I took Liseth to the vet and he thinks it could be damaged follicles however ee are having a new vet soon who specialises in Parrots and so I will take Liseth to see him to double check. In the meantime, thankyou for reading and for the helpful info that I've received here.
