Hey! Budgie and an African Grey from Missouri here :)

I have a cute little budgie named Magnus.

This summer he landed on my mother's head when she was outside, and so I took him under my wing so to speak. He's with my at college in my apartment right now. Funnily enough, I never even thought of having a bird before him. Now, I'm a hardcore bird lover. I have done tons of research about birds (it's literally a hobby of mine now) and one of my life goals was to one day own an African Grey.

Well, just a week ago I found that a distant relative owned one and I literally cried I was so happy that my grandmother was willing to take me over to meet her. (since I don't have a relationship with the people, but my grandma does.) I came over to visit, and then they offered her to me immediately. Of course, I couldn't say no. Especially since I learned that no one ever socializes with her, so much that she doesn't even talk anymore. Unfortunately, I can't take her until I move into my house I'm getting next August. I'm hoping I can visit her this summer, but she's 7 hours away from my apartment at college. Before I've stuck with budgie forums, but I've decided that I need to come here since I have tons of questions already about her!
Edit: forgot to mention, her name is Penny or Pennybird :)

Welcome to the forum.
Many of us were thrown into being a parrots slave before we even thought of getting a bird.
I learn something new every time I log into this forum.

Welcome, Starby, Magnus and CAG (you need to tell us her name!), to the forum! They are both very beautiful and, thankfully, the gray hasn't started plucking even though she is not getting any interaction!
