I adore my baby's and I give them a mix so they can choose for themselves what they like. I am not a Parakeet owner, I am a Parakeet mum. And have been for 30 years.
Sorry...
Anne, Dandelion and Burdock.
Your apology is accepted with no hard feelings but I am afraid that what you call unsolicited advice is, in reality, what bird forums are all about... At least, that is what we are all about here in this site. We take husbandry VERY seriously because we not only love our own birds but all birds regardless of who their owner is, and take their care very seriously as love alone doesn't keep a bird healthy or happy. So, when we read something that we don't agree with, we comment on it. It's not an attack or even anything personal against the OP, it's just that bird husbandry is in its infancy, the industry is unregulated, and there is a whole lot of misinformation out there so we feel a responsibility in calling people's attention to things that we question. Sometimes it's just a misunderstanding and all it takes is for the OP to clarify... We don't actually expect people to take our word for anything, we just want people to research and objectively evaluate the issue in question.
But I have to tell you that we don't allow foul language or insults here. Personally, I don't get offended or even bothered by them (I have a very thick skin
) but we need to look at the bigger picture and consider that we get children, teenagers and even adults that would be very bothered by bad language, insults or personal attacks - aside from the fact that they are explicitly forbidden in the rules.
