My new conure doesn't preen himself

Hi everyone! I am new to this forum. I recently bought a second green cheek conure; I've had him for about four days, and I haven't seen him groom himself once. He is very cuddly and seems to be bonding to me, but he doesn't groom himself. My other conure, Tyson, grooms herself constantly. Is there something wrong with my new baby? He's 10 months old.

Are you sure that he absolutely does not groom himself or just doesn't do it in front of you? A bird has to be relaxed and feel safe to engage in the act of preening so it may just be uncomfortable doing it in front of you. If you see the feathers deteriorating in condition and looking unkept, then you may need to take it to the vet.

I agree with this. We got two young adult Green Cheeks and the female would preen herself from day one and it took the male about 3 days before he started to preen himself.
