I'd take the Arthur if she's giving it to you for free unless the bar spacing is larger than 3/4 inch. I can't read the stats on it and I can't tell from the picture.

The bird will adapt to a new cage easily.

The spacing is about 1 inch (2,4 cm). Is that too much?
(3/4 inch would be 1,9 cm.)

She had a couple senegals in that cage, and she said it was fine. The couple moved outside to an aviary, so she has no need for the cage anymore.

In my opinion, I wouldn't take the cage with 1" spacing. You run the risk that your Senegal can put his head inbetween the bars and get stuck.

Pchela is correct when she suggests nothing larger than 3/4".

Perhaps you could take the cage and sell it and then put that money towards a new cage with smaller bar spacing?

As some of you already suspected. We fell for Peewee's charms.
A bit earlier then expected we went over there yesterday. He was very welbehaved. A bit aprehensive, but thats OK. His (prevous) owner put him on my hand and he was quite happy to stay there. Walking up to my shoulder and nibbling my hair and earring.
So we decided to bring him home.

Today I went out and bought him some decent parrotfood. He was being fed a tiny little bit of parakeetseeds and a whole bunch of sunflowerseeds. We needed to address that first. I also picked him up some nut-mix, the one for human consumption. And he seems happy with his new diet. He'll probably miss his sunflowers, but that will be a good foodtype to train him with.

When he started to play around in his cage (we brought his old one with us for now since the large one didnt fit in the car  ) I thought the time was there to start interacting with him. So I opened up the cage and let him come out on his own. He didnt waste any time. I picked him up and sat him on his table top and he just sat with me all day. Sitting outside in the sun while I was reading my book (he's clipped), preparing dinner, or watching TV. As long as he was near me, it was OK.

He really is just adorable :D
Can anybody give me an idea about wether he's a boy or a girl? Its feels like a boy, but the triangle on his chest dips so low, it makes me second guess.

Wow! He's gorgeous and he has blue eyes! That's really interesting looking. I would guess that he's a boy but I am terrible at guessing the sex of birds. Since I guessed boy, you probably have a little girl. :D

EDIT- looking at the photo again I'm changing my guess to a girl. The beak is more delicate than my males and the v does go down further than his as well.

Hahaha, since my feelings say its a boy also I'll trust you on this one ;)
Peewee is only 7 months old, so the blueishness might still be a residu from the baby black eyes.

nice cage, but for myself, i don't care for the dome tops. i like to put a play stand and perches up there for their out of cage time.
good luck with Peewee, i think she is a she just by the deep V neck, Marnies goes all the way down too. they are such fun birds! :senegal:

I used to feel the same way until I got my cape parrot cage with dome top. I realized it creates more inside of cage room for little/no added cost. I prefer to have alternative stands where the parrot can go for out of cage time.
