Have you researched both Greys and Macaws? To me that is an easy choice. An African Grey is smaller, meaning less maintenance and money as well as much quieter in nature and volume. Just my 2 cents! :) Also, are you a first time bird owner? I am and I wanted an African Grey to start, but realized that I would probably do the bird an injustice by being so inexperienced with such an incredibly intelligent bird. Not to say my Senegal is any less intelligent, she's actually pretty dang smart! I never considered a Macaw, so I don't know much about them, but I doubt they're great first time birds. Anyway, good luck with whatever route you choose! :)
