So I am new to this forum and I am hoping to get a green cheeked conure in about two weeks.
I am in the rocky mountains of Colorado.
I am getting him from a breeder who is about an hour from me and shes a great breeder, I trust her a lot.
I am trading her a baby for my two parrotlets. I got the parrotlets a few months ago from a breeder out of California. But he never told us that after putting them together they would not want anything to do with us. He also gave me birds that were not babies but said they were. So to make a long story short they weren't the companions I was wanting and I know this baby conure will be
I have done a ton of research about conures and decided that a conure in the Pyrrhura family is the bird for me. I think they're all so beautiful. I would love a painted conure but I am having a hard time finding breeders with them and the ones who do are very far away. And are not willing to trade my two parrotlets for one.
So that is where I fall into a dilemma with that.
And I would love a mutation in color green cheek but I have a good feeling about these normal green cheek babies. And I'm more for personality, tameness, ect...then color.
I am seventeen so I still live with my parents but I plan to take my bird with me everywhere I go
I do not plan on going to a big university or anything so that is not a concern for me.
So anywho, I came here to learn more and be able to share all my experiences with you all about my baby who is coming soon. I feel like I have learned a lot from my past experience and like I can give this bird a great home.
