Hello all-
My name is Joanna, I'm from the Chicago area.
I share my life with Mia- a 3 year old Hahns macaw, Ellie- a rescued 16 year old Red Belly, 3 Lineolated parakeets Gus, Remy and Bernard. I also have 3 rescued cockatiels that aren't hand tame at all. I'm bringing home a baby female Cape Parrot this Thursday who's name will be Capri.

My babies are my world!
Here are a few pictures...

Hi, I am new here too and I don't even have my bird yet but I am very anxiously waiting for him. He is a Hahn's like yours! Welcome! :macaw3:

Welcome Joanna. That's a beautiful flock that you have!

Ellie looks like a sweet little Red-Belly. I have a female Red-Belly as well - she'll be 5-years old on Thursday.

Hahns are quite possibly my favorite birds! Mia has the most incredible personality. She's sweet, SMART, and a bit bratty. She definitely has an agenda! She rules the bird room. Keeps everyone in line- while of course causing mischief herself. She is incredible! Her vocabulary is outstanding and she makes me laugh EVERY single day! I can go on for hours...

She's amazing! She lived in 1 home for the entire 16 years. I just recently rescued her. She lived in a tiny old cage. No toys. There apparently was a young kid who used to tease her because she would bite the SNOT out of my fingers for the first 3 weeks I had her. Then this lightbulb went off in her head. All of a sudden she started flying to my shoulder and preening me and regurgitating for me. She loves to ask for scritches. She says "nite nite pretty birdie" and "whatchu doing" she also mumbles a lot.
She is amazing!
She is my #1 toy destroyer!!! She LOVES everything and anything I put in the cage. I spend about $30-$50 a month on wood and shred-able toys for her!!!! She loves basswood. She loves pinatas. She loves wiffle balls. She's making up for lost time!

Thank you :)
They rule my life and they know it!!

The Cape is kind of a surprise. I put myself on a waiting list and was 5th in line for a female. The breeder had 2 available from the first clutch of the season. I was expecting this to happen about a year from now! I was SO excited to find out that the people on the list before me changed their minds!

I still have SO many things to do to prepare!

She sounds like my Lucy .... she loves to chew on wood and shred-able toys as well. I've started making some of my own toys using pieces from older destroyed toys just to save a few dollars. She doesn't really care. She's hard to keep up with sometimes ... I can't buy or make them fast enough.

I know the feeling!! She is so different from my Hahns macaw. Mia doesn't want anything to do with most toys. Mia's just happy chattering up a storm. Ellie wants to chew chew chew!! I love that I can get her anything and she's happy.
