INDIAN RING-NECK'S RULE..... MY HOUSE

Postby LOUIEIRN » Sat Jul 03, 2010 11:06 pm

Imagehttp://www.youtube.com/user/louieIRN I'm the proud Mommy of 2 wonderful 3 yr. old Indian ring-neck parakeets(IRN). If you don't know IRN's don't think of them as a parakeet because they are absolutely nothing like a "Budgie". From their bigger bright beak, really long tail feathers and colorful ring around the males neck. Plus my Louie speaks perfectly clear and says about 40+ phases and words. He gives kisses, sugars and awes on your cheek. I would recommend an IRN to anyone who wants a perfect baby to love! Please ask me any questions or concerns you might have about IRN's and I'd be happy to help. My Louie & Libby Lu have lots of fun videos on youtube, just search by LOUIEIRN. Hope you come and visit!!

Hi.. I have got 2 ring necked green parrots... I just got them 1 month back form the pet shop.. They are good energetic... bit it looks like they are scared of me... they go away show their backs when they see me.. I let them out of the cage during weekends, but it looks like they are happy inside the cage... I atleast expect them to show some love and affection towards me.. Please help me in this regards... Thanks in advance...

Mini,

You need to earn the trust with your IRN's and build a bond with them and with most birds it doesn't happen overnight. You need to work hard to earn their trust and build a bond.

I would suggest you visit Michael's training blog ... you'll find lots of useful information there -

And Louieirn, welcome to the board. I watched a few of your video's and Louie and Libby are beautiful! I love the sweet little voices of IRN's. One of the organizers of the local parrot club has an IRN and he is the funniest little bird. I look forward to many Louie and Libby stories :)

hello and Welcome!! i love IRNS !! they are so beautiful and come in so many pretty colors!
they have the cutest voices too. they can speak very well. your Louie is gorgeous!
how long have you had him? did you raise him from a baby?
so glad you joined us, we can use a good resource person for these cool birds.

i had a pair of grey ones for a while and enjoyed them very much. they were great eaters and fun to watch. they were not hand tame though and i had hoped to get a baby from them. didn't work. my husband complained about their noise, which i did not mind at all. they were rehomed to another IRN lover who has really done a lot with them.

now i have the chance to own a female Mustache parakeet which is in the same family, i am very excited to get her. she is not hand tame either but thats ok. i am happy to just have a bird and let it be itself and enjoy her for what it is. they are very striking birds.

feel free to share lots of pics of your IRNs!! we love pics!
