Hey from New Zealand downunder ;-)

Postby birdvet » Wed Aug 04, 2010 2:39 am

I'm an avian and wildlife veterinarian living in New Zealand. I live with a Nanday Conure, Johnny, an Indian Ringneck, Walter and a Crimson Wing Parakeet, Edward. Johnny is an amputee and is missing his left leg, Edward is a patient of mine I ended up adopting, he is also an amputee but is missing his right leg. Walter feels a little left out because he has two legs :senegal:

NZ Fly Fishing Heaven :) We might head to the South Island next year.

Nice to have an Avian Vet on the forum :D Fascinating how you came about your birds. I know my 11 year old son wants to adopt every unwell or injured bird we see. Would love to see some pictures of your birds.

Welcome to the forum! If I had my time back, I would go through to be a vet. When I was young I wanted to be one, but it just never worked out.

We'd love to see pictures of your flock. I'm glad there are people like you that will give injured birds a second chance at life :)
