Hello from Pierre

Hi... I'm Pierre, and I have had several homes. I now live with my newest owner, and I am pretty happy here. I am a Derbyan Parakeet. I am about the size of a Sun Conyer, and my ancestors came from Asia/China. I am a very colorful bird. My body is green, my tail is sort of a teal, my chest is rosy with a lavender hue to it, and my head is many colors. The top is lavender with an irridescent hue. I have an irridescent green around my eyes and above my bright orange beak. That is how everyone knows I am a male. I have a black moustache too.

I was hand raised and I love attention. Not all of us Derbyan Parakeets are good pets, but I try hard to be. My mom loves me, and I love her, except when I am in a bad mood... she does the typing for me.

I came to live in my new home after at least three other homes. I am at least 3 years old, maybe older. I was in a home that was not a great home as I am now afraid of sticks and stuff being moved around me . My last home was with a nice lady who rescued me from a shelter, but she re-enrolled in school full time and did not want me staying home alone all day. She found me this new home with a man and wife who's kids are all grown. They used to raise show canaries... pretty nice ones, I was told. The food here is great and I am a good beggar. I love fruit, veggies, pasta, homemade bread, and my natural hookbill diet.
