I have been enjoying Michael's videos on youtube. I messaged him and he invited me here.
My name is Allison. I'm 20 and am currently guardian of 4 parrots.
I have had my dusky pionus Kei for almost 6 years now. He's my baby.
I recently got another dusky pionus named Toad or Toady (I did not name him, but he responds to it). He is an 11 year old ex breeder male. He used to be a companion bird and is semi tame, but has not been handled much at all for the past 6 years. I'm working with him, and he is becoming more comfortable with me by the day. I'm hoping that he and Kei will become buddies after quarantine and got a lot of tips for introducing birds from Michael's videos.
I have an odd couple. A pacific parrotlet female named Harper and a male budgie named Beau. They are in love and spend pretty much their day side by side. Harper has had some plucking issues in the past, but is doing much better.
All of my birds are rehomes and I find it very rewarding to have given unwanted birds a great home to live for the rest of their lives.
Currently Kei, Harper, and Beau are free range in my bird room. They are only caged at night. Toady will be caged until he finds his place in the flock.
Here is my bird room.
