Thank you very much. :) I've been curious about parrotlets and was able to interact with a young parrotlet a few days ago. So cute and fit in less than the palm of my hand.

Are the parrotlets aggressive towards your budgies? Or do you not let them play together? And are parrotlets just as sweet and friendly as budgies, or just simply different?

Budgies? FRIENDLY? ha! Towards other birds they are awful. At least my female is. Whenever she gets the chance she tries to scare off Einstein!

No way! That's kind of funny to imagine, but I suppose it can be a pain for you! :o

Budgies are so sweet to each other and their owners. But they are little bullies! If I wasn't scared of Einstein losing a toe, I'd think it's cute :budgie:

You know that's really good for me to know because I've been looking for a friend for Sputnik and wondering about adding a parrotlet or cockatiel to my home, but maybe I should just stick with another budgie. Thank you!

If you are considering getting another budgie, then buy a second cage. You don't want your birdies bonding with each other rather than with you :)

I guess I will put my 2 cents worth in here  .....my budgies all get along with each other and they also get along fine with my lovies (I used to have 8 lovies and they all were out loose with the gang of budgies daily)
All of my budgies live in large groups in flight cages and they have stayed tame with me so Im kinda lucky that way I guess.
(I also have a bonded pair of lovebirds that have stayed extremely friendly with me and all Ive done is handle them each regularly.)
On the other hand my 7 parrotlets only get along with the one parrotlet they live with , not the other parrotlets, the budgies or the lovies are safe from their* little guy , think Im a macaw* attitude. Ive watched my little teeny weeny blue parrotlet chase my conures and they will definitely pick on my lovies but there seems to be a stand off between them and the budgies. Noone wins that one!
My parrotlets love to truck around for hours on my shoulder but are less likely than my budgies to want head scritches etc
My best friend across town here breeds parrotlets and shes seen them paired with other species when both birds are young and they bond quite nicely.
Hope this helps :)
