Hi everybody! I'm a new parrot mom-- but I've lived with parakeets, finches, lovebirds and cockatiels my whole life! My name is Ariel. I recently rescued two 9 yr old Senegal's from Craig's List. My male is Wembley, and the female is Mokey. (Yep, Fraggle Rock!) They were named pretty boy and pretty girl before, but I felt that was too anonymous. They were also living in a TINY cage-- too tiny for a parakeet, even (the cage my single finch is in was larger!!)!! They are now in a large 3' by 3' cage, but I'm saving up for an indoor walk-in aviary. My birds had been neglected for a while-- they seem like they used to be handled often, Wembley speaks and has a small vocabulary (at least that I've heard so far), and they do love to come out of their cage and follow me around the room. They are eager to sit with me, and seem to want to step up. I was bitten once each by them both, after they chose to sit on me of their own accord. So...I'm a little hesitant. But I am patient and excited to share with them, so it's only a matter of time
