What a gorgeous photo! Bailey is astounding, lovely, and so is his human slave. :)

Mr. Dodo and I once 'met' a gallah at a pet store in the town where we used to live, and the gallah took to Mr. Dodo right away. Didn't seem to like me at all. No reaction when I spotted the gallah first, s/he just sat on the perch regarding me in a bored, almost contemptuous way.

You should have seen the bird's personality change when the old man came up to see him. The bird fluffed his feathers, shook, and put on a full display for him. S/He danced, bowed...it was unbelievable! I was incredulous. Talk about a parrot trying to pick a human slave, eh?

LOL! at your nose stud. When I had our late Mott The Hoople (a singly-kept male peach-face lovebird) I couldn't wear most earrings and necklaces were out of the question, too.

I have triple piercings in each of my ears and when we had our Mott I never wore earrings, so the third piercings have closed up.

Oh, those naughty parrots and our jewellery! I'd repierce my ears but I'm too old and jaded to bother...

Hi, Eva...I love your name! I call myself "Dodo" here, but my name is also "Eva".

I'm far from turning 14, though. I just turned 56 in late November...you must think that's ancient!

Guess what? Some of us oldsters don't age much as age is a state of mind, and I still play, hopping over snowbanks like I'm a kid.

I'm glad that you are a bird lover at your age. The most cherished of creatures, birds, I think.

I believe that birds are winged messengers, delivering messages to us from beyond, and do you want to know why? Birds are closer to the heavens than other animals are.:)

Cheers,
Granny Eva (Dodo) :budgie:

A galah almost joined our family today....we called in to our local bird shop/breeder and my 14yo daughter was given the job of hand feeding the baby cockateils and a baby galah... she wore as much of the feed mix as she managed to get into their little beaks!! It was in her hair, on her clothes...everywhere!! Emma and the galah fell in love with each other...although I'm sure the galah was so adoring only because Emma was a source of food! Emma enjoyed her time feeding the babies so much that she's planning to go back every afternoon during our 6 weeks of summer/christmas holidays to help out. Some how i think that we may end up with that cute little galah joining our family :)
