Aawww...what a lovely thing that you have done...although i'm sure you're feeling a little sad. Good on you for rescuing him/her, providing tlc, and then letting him/her go. It's sounds to me like you are exactly the right type of person to own a bird

I owned an aviary of budgies as a teen, then birds were absent from my life for nearly 30 years. We (my 2 kids and I) started with 1 handtame baby budgie as a birthday pressie for my 11yo son....and in less than 12 months we've gone a little bird-mad

Now we have 9!! 2x handtame budgies (Emma & Tom's) my green cheek conure, and a small flock of 6 untamed budgies that we are hoping to breed so that we can raise handtamed babies. Just call me the mad bird lady!!
I really hope you eventually get another bird
