New to the forum and parrot family

Postby flutterbird » Tue Dec 14, 2010 12:14 am

Hello, first of all I would like to point out that I am completely new to forums. I have read over some rules but not all as of yet. Im not sure if Im supposed to write this in another place or create a whole new topic just like I did so if I was wrong, I am sorry.

My name is Lisa. I recently found my new friend Charlie at a pet store. I wasnt actually planning on purchasing anything that day as I was mainly there to look but I was surprised when I was told that it would be a christmas gift if I decided to purchase one. I was sold, I bought Charlie on the spot. While I was there they (all the birds) were calm so I was unable to see any of their personalities, I bought Charlie mainly on looks as I love the colour blue and charlie is part green with lots of blue.

I am in love with this bird even though he doesnt like me lol. He is so smart, cant fool him for anything. He is also comical (unintentionally). At the moment we are working on taming, he is definately not a tammed guy. He is too fearful of me right now. I am here to learn more about my little friend as well as other parrots because I have come to love them so very much!

I hope to learn alot from this site and some day when I learn more hopefully I will be able to pass on what I have learned to others so that they too can enjoy their new feathered friend(s). Nice to meet all of you and can't wait to get started on the learning process.

Thanks for listening (or reading in this case :D)
Lisa (flutterbird, name I chose because Charlie is a flyer and usually away from me :P)

Hello Lisa, welcome to the forum, and welcome to Charlie. I'm sure that there's plenty of info here that you can use to help turn Charlie into a cuddle bug, Good Luck
